Privacy Policy

Last Updated: December 19, 2025

This privacy policy explains how Summarizerrrr (“the Extension”) collects, uses, and protects your information.

The Extension does not collect any personal identifying information from its users. All data processed by the Extension, such as video transcripts or web page content, is processed locally within your browser.

When you use the summarization feature, the content you choose to summarize (such as video transcripts, article text, or web page content) is sent to the AI provider you have configured. The Extension supports multiple AI providers:

Important: The Extension only sends content to AI providers when you explicitly request a summary. No data is sent automatically or in the background.

The Extension stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome’s storage API:

  • API Keys: Your personal API keys (stored securely in local storage, never transmitted to our servers)
  • Summarization History (Archive): If enabled, your past summaries are stored locally
  • Custom Prompts: Any custom prompts you create

This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to external servers operated by us.
